Impaired Driving Simulator

Conway Police Department's School Resource Officers and Traffic Officers conduct a 2-day awareness course to Conway Public Schools students twice during the school year. Day one is spent with lecture and presentations and day two is spent on a controlled driving course using golf carts donated by Conway Country Club. Students wear Fatal Vision® Goggles while they attempt to navigate the course. It is set up similar to normal driving conditions including accelerating, slowing for curves, and stopping at a stop sign before making a turn. Fatal Vision® Goggles use special lens technology that allows the wearer to experience a realistic simulation of impairment.
